When worlds collide

Well, almost. The object that collided with Earth 66 million years ago and created the Chicxulub crater has been estimated to be ten kilometers (6.2 miles) across. Still made quite an impression, though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_crater

What about Chicxulub in the here and now? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_Pueblo Near the center of the crater is a town of about 6000. The name Chicxulub comes from the Yucatec Maya language and translates to “devil’s flea” in English.
